During the opening session of the Buenos Aires Legislature, Governor Axel Kicillof launched a strong attack against President Javier Milei, calling him "impudent, cynical, and irresponsible" in response to the politician's statements regarding a possible federal intervention in the province due to insecurity. Kicillof dedicated more than two and a half hours to present his position on various topics, from security to the national economy.

Regarding the federal intervention proposed by Milei, the governor pointed out that this measure would only cause chaos and prolong the voting times in the simultaneous elections. Additionally, he criticized the president's economic policies, accusing him of keeping the dollar "artificially stable" to favor financial speculation. Kicillof stated that never before in the province's history had so much been invested in security, detailing that 170 billion pesos would be allocated this year to strengthen the protection of Buenos Aires residents.

On another topic, Kicillof expressed support for suspending open, simultaneous, and mandatory primary elections (PASO) in the province, although he left the final decision to the Buenos Aires Legislature. During his speech before the Legislative Assembly, the governor called for respect for federalism and asserted that governors are not "employees of the President."

Kicillof compared the president's economic plan to past neoliberal models and harshly criticized the national government's agreement with the IMF, calling it "a pyramid scheme." Regarding security, he defended his administration's record and announced a package of measures to combat crime in the province, including a Provincial Disarmament Plan and a comprehensive monitoring program for minors apprehended with the aim of preventing recidivism.

The governor announced legal reforms to toughen penalties for illegal possession of weapons and expedite searches in cases of flagrance. He also announced the strengthening of provincial police forces, the acquisition of new patrol cars, and the creation of a Municipal Fund of 70 billion pesos to reinforce security in municipalities with more than 70,000 inhabitants.

In conclusion, Kicillof criticized Milei's administration, defended his policies on security and the economy, and announced concrete measures to address insecurity in the province of Buenos Aires.
